Dr. Reiner See

MD, Medical Director


Dr. Reiner See is triple board-certified in Neurology, Neuromuscular Medicine and Clinical Intraoperative Neurophysiology. He devotes his clinical time in the Massachusetts General Hospital’s Intraoperative Neurophysiologic Monitoring unit and as an Oversight Neurologist at NuVasive Clinical Services. He evaluates patients at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital’s multi-disciplinary Paralysis Center performing electrodiagnostic studies on peripheral nerve disorders and evaluation of spinal cord injury patients undergoing reconstructive neurosurgical interventions.

Dr. See is passionate in advancing the practice of neuromonitoring through education, research and quality standards of practice. He is actively involved in training Intraoperative Neuromonitoring fellows at Mass General Hospital. He serves as the medical director at University of Connecticut Master of Science in Surgical Neurophysiology Program and teaches at Labouré College of Healthcare Intraoperative Neuromonitoring Technologist program. He has a faculty academic appointment at Harvard Medical School as Clinical Instructor of Neurology. His research interests are quantitative neurophysiological methods and application of novel nerve repair techniques in spinal cord injury, brain cancer and stroke patients to restore function from paralysis.

Dr. See is a board member of Fenway Health’s institutional review board (IRB), reviewing human clinical trials on biomedical and behavioral intervention protocols aimed at improving the health and well-being of HIV+ individuals and the LGBTQ community. He served as Vice Chair of Massachusetts Medical Society (MMS) Committee on LGBT Matters. Along with the Committee on Medical Education, he serves in the selection committee in awarding research grants to advance the quality, access, and equity of health care services for LGBT patients. He served as Chair of the Massachusetts General Hospital’s LGBT Employee Resource Group.

Outside of the operating room, he enjoys scuba diving, skiing, cycling and travelling together with family and friends. He is actively involved in promoting equity, diversity and inclusion efforts, advocates for LGBTQ rights and participates in outreach and medical missions.
