Dr. Radmila Filipovic

Dr. Radmila Filipovic is an Associate Professor in Residence in the Department of Neurobiology and Physiology (PNB) at the University of Connecticut. She earned her Ph.D. in Neuroscience from the University of Belgrade, Serbia. Before she joined the PNB Department full-time, Dr. Filipovic performed extensive research in neuroscience and stem cell biology.  She received funding from the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and the State of Connecticut Stem Cell Initiative, and published her work in peer-reviewed journals. Currently, Dr. Filipovic is Lab Coordinator of Human Physiology and Anatomy and teaches other neuroscience courses in the department.  Dr. Filipovic’s special expertise is in neuroanatomy. Her goal as a teacher is to facilitate active learning and critical thinking by incorporating case studies, drawings, and active discussions during class.
